Board of Director’s Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order

 

Meeting minutes:

            No minutes to present from last meeting.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

            Motion to accept by Bruce Sekanick, second by Doug Abbatiello

 

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

Annual Dinner- Reported by Art Morris: 

The following arrangements for the dinner are:

            Venue:   The Ohio Historical Society Youngstown Center of Industry and Labor

            Caterer:  Saratoga (they will also provide the bar)

            Music:  Art and Mary are making the arrangements

            Flowers:  Melissa will make the arrangements

Invitations:  Mollie and Sue will have out to the members by October 15th with reservations to be made by October 30th to Mollie.

 

 

Awards-

Design Awards request for entries will be emailed and faxed to firms

Each firm is to provide their own binders with the appropriate identification sheet provided to them.  Once committee receives submittal they will assign project numbers at that time.

Submittals must be made on or before Friday, October 24th to Mollie.

Jury to meet week of November 3rd.

            Discussion of awards for the clients -  Bruce will look into the cost, etc.

 

 

Membership- No report

 

Website-  No report.

 

Continuing Ed-  No report.

 

Gold Medal-  Memo will be sent out via fax and email to all members next week for nominations.

 

Political Action/PR- 

 

Ohio Director-  See attached report from Bruce Sekanick.

 

Convention 2006  -  Note the state convention to be held by Eastern Ohio Chapter has been pushed back a year to 2006.  Committee – Bruce Sekanick, Jay Crafton, Doug Abbatiello

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

The board invites Paul Ricciuti to attend the next meeting to speak on behalf of the Smokey Hollow foundation.

 

Jay Crafton to contact Business Journal regarding publishing the awards and entries, similar to what we’ve done in the past with the Vindicator.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Joe Makosky motioned the board to incorporate into future budgets, beginning 2004, funding to pay for the president and president-elect registration and hotel to attend the annual state convention. Seconded by Bruce.
